Alright my trial at The Malaysian Skills competition is finally over. The battle is over. My training for the past few months came down to 2 mintues. Yeap I was 2 minutes short in completing my task within 3 hours. How ironic isn't it?? Months = Days = Conuntless hours of training just came down to 2 minutes!! 2 minutes!! 120 seconds!! Out of the 8 of us competing at a time, only 2 others started the engine within the time given. Then I was the last who managed to start my engine. 2 minutes late. Well at least my engine came to life with just one start. Started with such ease, even I was suprised!! The other 2 contestants had a few hiccups starting the engine. So consilation for my self?? 3rd best out of the batch??
But on the other hand the competition has given me some other things to look at. Even though I finished my job 2 minutes late, everyone was still so happy with me. Mostly all the trainers at TOC were there to support me all the way. Also some management staff were there to cheer me on. And of course my college CEO Miss Adelaine was there too. The moment I started the engine, all of them cheered damn loud it almost brought the place down. Then they rushed inside the competition area to hug me and shake my hand. Every single one of them. Daryl and some friends from Mercedes also came to cheer me up. At that particular moment I was seriously damn down. I just couldn't forgive myself for being 2 minutes behind. But now when I think about it, I am the luckiest guy there. Everyone was there telling me I did a good job, following the engine manual and all the specifications. When I got home, I continuously recieved sms-es from everybody telling me to cheer up and don't worry about it. Even though I finished my task 2 minutes late. Now it really made me think how seriously lucky I am to have such wonderful people in my life.
